Request for Information (Market research) (RFI) for Otautau Camping Ground Development Open Date: Tuesday, 27 February 2024 8:30 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Close Date: Wednesday, 3 April 2024 4:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Tender Type: Request for Information (Market research) (RFI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: Southland Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: The purpose of this RFI is to invite interested parties to register their interest, by way of submitting a proposal for the development of a small camping ground on Slaughterhouse Road, Otautau. Proposals for involvement from commercial operators and the community wishing to be involved are welcomed. The Wallace Takitimu Community Board (the community board) assigned some of the 2022 Water Reform, tranche one Better Off Funding to the re-establishment of a camping ground in Otautau. We encourage and welcome innovative and outside of the box proposals. Should you require a site visit please make contact and this can be arranged. The below skills and trades are an example of what this proposal is looking for to create a team: - civil contractor - plumber - electrician - qualified builders - draughts person, capable of completing consent drawings. Stage one is hoping to deliver the following within the $250,000 budget available. Resource consent will be applied for directly by Southland District Council staff. A communal facility building with the following key features is desired for stage one: - two unisex showers, plus one accessible shower and toilet combined, plus two unisex accessible toilets - kitchen with communal tables, fridge, freezer and laundry with two tubs plus washing machine and drier - building to be approximately 40m² to include all features and may require accessible access (possibly with ramps/handrails if constructed on piles above ground) - accommodation for tents and campers delivered in stage one followed by development of cabins in stage two, if successful, and funding allows. Other considerations Connections - to sewer and water, power, lighting, campervan charging/power to sites and management/ operations. Landscaping - including road network, fencing, signage, planting, communal outdoor area with BBQ and outdoor seating. Sustainability - options for an eco-styled facility should be explored further in the next stage. Considerations include energy conservation, composting toilets, rainwater harvesting, energy efficient buildings, solar-power, recycling of waste.
