Tenders Are Invited For Consultant On Southern Lao Pdr Renewable Energy Export Strategy

Tenders are invited for Consultant on Southern Lao PDR Renewable Energy Export Strategy Scope and details of the Assessment Phase 1: assess the wind, solar and pumped hydro resources in Southern Laos (primarily relying on existing data wherever possible) and assess the potential for current and proposed projects in Southern Laos to meet export needs. Phase 2: Determine the best combination of renewable power and storage mix for export to Cambodia to optimise the existing Cambodian/Lao MoU and EDL/EDC PPA for 600MW Xekong and 1,800MW Sekong projects. This will require ranking of projects on economic, environmental and social basis. As part of this, the consultant should summarise risks and opportunities, model EDL southern power grid to identify opportunities to aggregate and firm up exports to Cambodia and identify transmission requirements and upgrades required Phase 3: outline next steps to advance to pre-feasibility phase, if sufficient interest is received by Cambodian and Laotian authorities.
