We understand that to do better for Mori we need to do things differently and localised approaches are best to meet the specific needs of hapori Mori (Mori communities) so whnau can participate fully in their hauora (health) and oranga (wellbeing). Were seeking to design: kaupapa Mori prevention initiatives with a focus on the primary prevention of sexual violence through the promotion of mana-enhancing and tapu-enriched relationships kaupapa Mori health services for whnau when they are injured, with a focus on treatment and rehabilitation for kiritaki (clients) with complex injuries and a high level of need (including, but not limited to, serious injuries and sexual violence). We want to partner with kaupapa Mori specialists to design ACC solutions that enable whnau to live well and, if injured, to access services that are culturally safe and appropriate, as defined by Mori. Once the design of these solutions is approved, well seek kaupapa Mori providers to deliver the initiatives and services. We are commissioning kaupapa Mori specialists to design these initiatives and services in 12 rohe (regions) across Aotearoa. They will bring the mtauranga (knowledge) and strong community connections needed to guide design and work with iwi, ACC, kiritaki and whnau to ensure the solutions meet local needs. Procurement will be run in four tranches (stages) and all opportunities will be openly advertised on GETS.
