The Main Objective Of The National Planning (Kya 50910/2727/2003) Especially For The Dewatered Sludge Coming From The Six (6) Municipal Wastewater Treatment Facilities (Wtp) Of The Municipality Of Nea Propontida Is To Achieve A High Rate Of Utilization With A Corresponding Reduction In The Rate Of Final Disposal . The 6 Wastewater Treatment Units Are: 1. Kallikrateia Prefecture, 2. Moudanion Prefecture, 3. Dionysiou – Flogitonos, 4. Prefecture Of Potidaia, 5. Prefecture Of Triglias, 6. Semantron, For A Period Of Twenty-Four (24) Months In Order To Reduce The Percentage Of Sludge Produced (Often Also Referred To As Sewage Sludge), In Recent Years The Method Of Bioreinforcement Has Been Applied, Which Is Based On The Addition And Cultivation Of Specific Microorganisms (Mainly Bacteria) And Other Elements Of The Biological Process Such As Enzymes. The Application Of The Method Results In The Production Of Fully Stabilized Sludge As Well As The Reduction Of The Quantity Which Ranges From 45% To 90%.
