Request for Tender: Supply a High Tractive Power Locomotive ESR seeks to engage competent and suitable suppliers to supply a high tractive power locomotive that will operate within the axle load limit of 18.5 tons/axle whilst hauling a gross tonnage load of 2700 tons on a track gradient of 1:80. The locomotive must be highly fuel efficient and be adaptable to alternative fuel sources such as hydrogen or upgradable to alternative electricity generation mechanisms such as hydrogen fuel cells.
