The Jobs Pilot in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu This activity aims to support the Governments of Tamil Nadu (TN) and Maharashtra (MH) in fostering job creation. This activity will conduct rapid diagnostics; select key relevant economic sub-sectors; and produce action plans aiming at developing sub-sectors with high growth and job creation potential; through the following approach:* For each sector listed below and for each state; use existing evidence and analysis to identify key opportunities for job creation.* Maharashtra: agribusiness and entertainment-based tourism.* Tamil Nadu: care economy. *. Identify actionable blueprints to develop these sub-sectors; including stroke-of-the-pen policy reforms and sector and district specific investments.*. Identify job creation bottlenecks and opportunities related to the supply of labor; (e.g.; skilling).*. Work with private sector players in selected sectors in addition to stakeholders within and outside government as partners for design; implementation; and monitoring.*. Support the activation of the action plan by the governments. Sectoral candidates include labor-intensive services and manufacturing; including the food value chain.
