Pharmacs role within the New Zealand health system is to make decisions on which medicines, medical devices, and vaccines are funded that will achieve the best health outcomes from within the available funding. Currently, there is an opportunity for Pharmac to modernise the Medical Device Architecture we use with modern technology that will aim to boost productivity, create a rich user experience, and enhance data accessibility, quality, and insight. Pharmac is therefore releasing this Advance Notice through GETS to advise that it intends to go to market soon to identify and engage a preferred supplier(s) to work with us in implementing multiple internal and external Web Portals using a Low-Code based technology platform and to help design and develop a new internal secure API layer to support these Web Portals. The Procurement Process is intended to be conducted by an open competitive tender via a single-stage Request for Proposals (RFP). Subject to internal approvals, the likely release of the RFP will be mid-late January 2024.
