Tenders are invited for ESG and Climate Risks Integration into Environmental and Social Risk Management Systems for FIs 1. Project Objectives Under its Sustainability Policy; IFC integrates climate mitigation and adaptation as part of sustainability activities. Demand by financial institutions is high for support related to climate-related risk management and its connection with E&S risk management under the application of the PSs. This stems from the rapid adoption of regulations and voluntary principles on climate-related and environmental risk management and disclosures across emerging markets; and an increased focus on net-zero strategies and pledges to align with the Paris Agreement. The ESG Advisory Program supports clients in moving towards greater consistency with the PSs. Its offering includes technical assistance; capacity building; and tools geared at improving the ESG performance of FIs. IFCs ESG Advisory is seeking the support of a consultant to strengthen its current offering on ESMS and ESRM by:*Integrating ESG and climate risks: ESG Advisory will support FIs in identifying; assessing and managing E&S and climate risks by supporting the development of adequate E&S and climate risk management systems; through developing guidance for FIs on the integration of physical climate risk screening (and consideration of transition risk analysis for hard to abate sectors); into E&S risk management approaches.*Building ESG and climate risk management capacity: ESG Advisory will support capacity building on ESG and climate risk management at the level of FIs Board; senior management and staff.*Enhancing tools to support effective integration: ESG Advisory will update key tools to support FIs in the development and implementation of ESMS and related governance structures integrating climate risk considerations. These elements will be part of a broader IFC Advisory offering on ESG and climate risk; including ESG and climate governance and disclosure; which are developed separately from this engagement.2. Project Objectives and Timeline The tasks expected from the selected consulting firm are:*Conduct a desk review of approaches and practices of ESG and climate risk integration into FIs ESMS.*Develop proposed approaches to integrate ESG and climate risk into ESG Advisorys ESMS offering jointly with the IFC team.*Develop a set of training materials for IFC to engage emerging market FIs.*Consultations; as required; with key internal and external stakeholders to inform the engagement and final deliverable.*Design and deliver an information-sharing session with IFC leads.The deliverables are planned to be completed and delivered within six to nine months.
