It is proud of its traditions (the school dates back to the 1880s) but looks to the future. It is important to the school to have buildings that meet DQLS standard and support 21st Century pedagogy. As part of this project Gore Main aims to use AMS to upgrade the teaching spaces in Block B while devoting its 5YA funding to essential infrastructure. Regional funding has been approved to support this project, which addresses: Roofing (New roofs to Blocks, A, B, C, D, F, J and covered ways). Project consultants are: o Project Manager: James Crawford Logic Group o Lead Designer: The Design Studio The draft physical requirements of the project are detailed below: B Rectify storm water/foul sewer cross contamination. (Redirect existing stormwater downpipe). G Install drain coil and sump to remedy standing water. Re roofing To Block A. Tenting of classroom buildings. Removal of existing roofing and replacing with a warm roof to low pitched habitable spaces. Removal of existing skylights and replacing with a new ceiling. Cover over existing skylights. Replacement of all roofing as part of work to this Block. Replacing of spouting and downpipes. New Insulation, paint the existing fascias. Upgrade the existing fire alarm from type 2 to type 4 (Ministry requirement). a. To Blocks B, C, and D. Remove existing roof and replace with coloursteel. Roof Insulation. Replace spouting and downpipes. Paint the existing fascias. Upgrade the existing fire alarm from type 2 to type 4 (Ministry requirement) Trafficable mesh and clearlite where required to all verandas. To Block F (shed) and J. Install safety mesh under the existing clearlite or replace with trafficable material. To the Covered Ways. Remove existing membrane roofing, re-pitch and replace with coloursteel. New spouting and downpipes. Site: Fire compliance connected with upgrades above including emergency lighting. AMS Modifications to Block B AMS upgrade to Block B teaching space. The scope of works includes: New Autex to walls, new ceiling linings and LED lighting. New electrical and data upgrades. New carpet. Remove existing timber framed internal walls and create breakout spaces. New exterior double glazed aluminum windows. Relocate/ replace heat pump as required.
