Laboratory Equipment For Research - Stopped-Flow Apparatus With Optical System. The Products Are Imperatively Necessary For The Implementation Of The Activities Of The Dynamic Interactive Membranes Toward Adaptive Selection Of Functions (Evolution) Project, Project Code: Cf16/11.11.2022. The Products Are Used Within The Project Activities, Ensuring As A Result Of Their Contracting And Delivery, The Performance Of The Specific Project Development Activities To An Appropriate Standard. The Evolution Project Cf16/11.11.2022, Contract No. 760033/23.05.2023 Aims To Obtain Dynamic Membranes Capable Of Structural And Functional Adaptability In Response To Internal Or External Stimuli. The Project Is Based On The Exploration Of Multivalent Molecular Recognition And Self-Assembly By Using Constitutionally Adaptive Platforms. The Use Of Reversible Interactions As Dynamic Interfaces Between Components Will Allow Self-Regulation Of System Properties. The Main Objective Is To Create A New Generation Of Interactive, Functional Membranes Capable Of Adapting To External Stimuli Or Internal Constitutional Evolution, Opening The Way To Applications In Emerging Fields Complementary To Chemistry And Environmental Science. Two Applications Are Considered: Permeable Membranes For Gas Separation And Carbon Capture And Sequestration (Ccs) And Robust Membranes, Including Water Channels, For Water Desalination, Reuse And Purification. Considering The High Permeability And Flexibility Of Elastic Polymers, The Project Aims To Use Rubbery Organic Frameworks (Rofs) As Alternative Membrane Materials With Applications In Ccs. Also, Based On Our Experience In Transposing Supramolecular Ion Channels And Artificial Water Channels (Awcs) In Macroscopic Membranes, We Propose New Methods [E.G. Artificial Water Channels (Awcs) Physically Embedded In Thin-Layer Polymers Or The Chemical Synthesis Of Polymers Functionalized With Awcs And Their Deposition On Various Membrane Supports] For The Fabrication Of Robust Membranes Useful In Water Desalination, Reuse And Purification. The Optical Stoppedflow Apparatus To Be Purchased Is A Key Apparatus That Allows The Characterization Of Artificial Water Channels (Awcs) Embedded In Lipid Vesicles. The Device Allows Following The Rapid, Transient Kinetics Of Water Transport Through The Membrane Of Lipid Vesicles. Such A Process Can Be Generated By Mixing Lipid Vesicles Incorporating Artificial Water Channels With A Hyperosmotic Solution. The Concentration Gradient Induces A Rapid Flow Of Water From The Vesicles. Thus, The Volume Of The Vesicles Decreases And The Concentration Of The Internal Medium Increases. This Kinetic Contraction Will Stop When The Concentration Of The Inner Medium Has Reached That Of The Outer One. The Rapid Change In The Size Of The Vesicles Can Be Detected By Means Of The Light Intensity Scattered At 90°M Using The Optical Module Of The Stopped Flow Apparatus. The Intensity Of The Light Scattering Signal Will Increase When The Vesicle Size Decreases.
