Request for proposals are invited for Consultant to Provide Technical Support for Stable Isotope Equipment Configuration and Analysis. SCOPE OF WORK AND OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES The main objective of this contract is to (i) configure stable isotope equipment in a laboratory at the National Research and Innovation Agency (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional BRIN) and (ii) to train 2-3 scientists on laboratory analysis for verifying timber origin. The activities be conducted as part this contract shall include: - Conducting a baseline test at the beginning of the consultancy. - Organizing an on-site training for 2-3 BRIN scientists at the vendors laboratory to share nonproprietary and transparent processing protocols as well as to provide technical expertise on how to conduct stable isotope analysis. - Organizing an on-site training at BRIN for 2-3 scientists to provide additional technical support with samples analyzed as part of the proficiency testing. - Conducting proficiency tests between the laboratory in Indonesia and the laboratory represented by the vendor as well as third laboratory (if possible). The proficiency test shall test for comparability, especially scaling, linearity, and sensitivity. - Introduce laboratory standards for wood measurement.
