Setu, Along With Their Partners Have Developed A Joint Vision For The Development Of The Former Waterford Crystal Site On The Cork Road In Waterford City And The Associated Public Realm. 20.3 Acres Of The Site Which Extends To 37 Acres Has Been Purchased By Setu. This Site Which Is Directly Adjacent To The Setu Campus, Cork Road, Waterford, Represents A Significant Opportunity For The Future Growth Of Setu. The Vision For A University And Enterprise Quarter, Which Was Developed In Collaboration With The Partners Of Setu, Sets Out Proposals And Options For The Expansion Of The Setu Campus, Including The Consolidation And Intensification Of The Existing Cork Road Campus. The Co-Location Of Setu With Enterprise Clusters Will Foster Industry-Academia Connections To Support Collaboration, Innovation And Job Creation. The Vision Also Includes The Creation Of A New Enterprise Hub On Part Of The Crystal. This Part Of The Development Will Be Commercially Driven To Support Economic Development In The Locality, City And Region And To Enable The Strengthening Of Strategic Links Between The University, Enterprise And Industry. It Is Important That A Shared Understanding Of The Vision Continues Through The Development Of Capital Infrastructure To The Operational Stages Of The Quarter In Order To Ensure That The Maximum Regional Impact Is Achieved From The Proposed Development Which Will Act As An Innovation Ecosystem And A Catalyst For Education And Enterprise. Each Party Involved In The Development Will Have Own Interests, Responsibilities And Governance Structures They Must Work In Tandem To Deliver Upon The Vision In A Cohesive Manner. Setu Is Seeking The Assistance Of A Professional Who Will Aid The Acceleration Of The Attainment Of The Vision By Putting In Place The Appropriate Structures And Plans Required To Attain Early Evidence Of Delivery Of The Vision. It Is Expected That The Consultant Will Be Required To Dedicate Approximately 2 Days Per Week However There May Be A Requirement For Flexibility Depending On Activity. This Is A Short-Term Transitionary Arrangement Which Will Last Approx. 3 To 5 Months, However This May Be Extended For Up To 12 Months Depending On University Requirements.
