Waka Kotahi requests information on the capacity of market providers to undertake survey work, producing pavement deflection data which will enable an ongoing trend information to predict pavement life and therefore plan work programmes. One of the core functions of Waka Kotahi is to maintain and manage the State Highway network. The State Highways Maintenance and Renewals Programme is a key part of this management. This programme sets out the planned work on the network. Reliable and accurate asset condition data is needed to build evidence based decision-making processes, work site selection and prioritisation in the programme. The State Highway pavement is among the highest value assets on the State Highway network. Critical to overall road performance, there is a strong relationship with the management of the pavement to other assets such as the road surface and drainage.
