The Vierendeel L25 Bridge Over The Leuvensevaart In Mechelen Is A Metal Railway Bridge Isostatic Riveted With Two Tracks Which Was Built In The Period 1933-1935 And Part Of A Set Of Four Original Vierendeel Bridges. The Bridge Is Classified As Architectural Heritage And Must Be Renovated As Part Of The Master Plan From Mechelen. On The One Hand, The Bridge Is Badly Rusted, Requiring Replacement Of A Large Number Of Elements Such As Bracing And Support Profiles. On The Other Hand, The Original Solid Roller Bearings Also Require Structural Repairs. In Addition, The Bridge Must Be Adapted To Current Standards, Which Involves The Renewal Of The Upper Bracing And The Renewal Complete With Service Tracks And Track Supports. Finally, An Abutment Presenting Cracks Will Be Structurally Repaired And Reinforced Using Post-Tensioning Bars And A Reinforced Concrete Wall.
