They Greatly Enhance The Efficiency; Accuracy; And Timeliness Of Surveillance Efforts; Making It Easier For Public Health Authorities To Monitor And Respond To Disease Outbreaks. Digital Technologies Have Revolutionized Disease Surveillance Systems By Enabling Real-Time Data Collection; Analysis; Reporting And Communication. The World Bank Is Supporting Its Clients In Strengthening Digital Surveillance Systems. The Objective Of This Consultancy Will Be To Provide Consulting And Advisory Services To A Set Of 5 To 10 Lmic Countries And Based On Specific Future Country Requests May Contribute To (I) Improving The Integration And Interoperability Of Their Digital Surveillance System; (Ii) Expanding Their Capacities To Cover New Areas Of Surveillance Through The Development Of Digital Platforms And Tools For Example For Water-Based Surveillance; Genomic Sequencing Or Climate Sensitive Early Warning Systems; And (Iii) Leveraging Mobile Tools And Big Data Analytics Across Sectors For Disease Surveillance. Multiple Tools Can Indeed Be Used To Strengthen The Surveillance Process And Enhance The Ability To Detect And Respond To Disease Outbreaks. This Consultancy Will Aim To Provide Expert Guidance Across A Wide Range Of Digital Technologies And Be Able To Provide World Bank Client Countries With Detailed Functional Requirements For Future Investments. A Non-Exhaustive List Of Potential Areas Of Support Include The Following: Laboratory Information Management Systems To Help Generate Reports For Disease Surveillance And Facilitate The Sharing Of Laboratory Data With Public Health Agencies; Geospatial Information Systems To Help Public Health Authorities Make Informed Decisions About Resource Allocation And Intervention Strategies Based On Geographic Patterns Of Disease; Big Data Analytics Platforms To Be Used For Predictive Modeling And Outbreak Detection; Disease Reporting And Surveillance Software To Enhance The Speed And Accuracy Of Disease Surveillance By Reducing Data Entry Errors And Enabling Real-Time Data Sharing; Mobile Apps And Web-Based Tools To Help Engage The Public In Disease Surveillance Efforts And Participate In Contact Tracing Efforts; Syndromic Surveillance Software To Help Identify Potential Disease Outbreaks Early By Analyzing Data From Sources Like Emergency Department Visits; School Absenteeism; And Over-The-Counter Medication Sales; Genomic Sequencing And Bioinformatics Tools To Help Identify And Track Pathogens; Monitor Their Evolution; And Assess Their Potential Impact On Public Health; Regional Health Data Sharing Platforms To Enable The Exchange Of Information About Outbreaks; Emerging Threats; And Best Practices.
