The City Of Olsberg Currently Has 22 Stationary Siren Systems To Warn And All-Clear The Population, Most Of Which Were Built In The 1960S And 1970S. These Are All Type E57 Motor Sirens. The Sirens Do Not Have Battery Backup And Are Therefore Not Functional In The Event Of A Power Failure. For This Reason And Because Of The Age Of The Systems, 14 Of The 22 Siren Systems Are To Be Replaced With New Electronic Sirens To Warn And All-Clear The Population On Roofs (12 Sirens) And Free-Standing Masts (2 Sirens) As Part Of The Use Of Funding From The State Of North Rhine-Westphalia . Since Modern Siren Systems Are More Powerful, 4 Siren Locations Can Be Eliminated. It Is Therefore Necessary To Dismantle The Existing Systems At These Locations As Soon As The New Systems Have Been Installed.
