The Government Of Papua New Guinea (Gopng) Has Set A Goal Of Achieving 70 Percent National Electrification By 2030 And Carbon Neutrality By 2050 And Adopted The National Electrification Roll-Out Plan (Nerop) In 2019 To Support This Objective. Prioritization Criteria To Select The Most Attractive Sites From The 57 Mini-Grids Locations Identified In The Nerop Mini-Grids Map Book; Will Be Developed. The Selected Micro Grids Sites Will Aim To Maximize Utilization Of Locally Available Renewable Energy Sources; Predominantly Solar Combined With Battery Storage Solutions. Communities With Lower Capital Cost Per Connected Consumer In Selected Regions Where Technically Feasible And Within Reach; Will Be Prioritized. The Studies Developed From The Assignment Will Inform The Design Of Neat Project.
