The Contractor Shall Submit For His Approval The Completed Details Of The Proposed Waterproofing System Specified In The Mentioned Areas. The Submittal Shall Include Specifications, Technical Literature, Safety Measures, Samples And Detailed Drawings Showing The Following: - Complete Roof Plan Indicating The Expansion Joints In The Screed, Maintain The Slope And The Type Of Membrane To Be Used (Recommended Minimum Membrane 4Mm Thick). - Vertical Upstand Areas. - Water Spout Areas. - The Water Tank Area. - Layout Of Slopes And Cross Falls With Levels And If Any Other Waterproof Area. B . The Submittal Shall Also Include A Comprehensive Method Statement Scribing The Procedure For Detection And Repairing Techniques In Case Failure Occurs In The Water Proofing System C. The Water Proofing System Shall Be Applied By Specialized Experienced Subcontractors (Minimum Five Years Experience) Who Possess Purposed-Build Machines And Specially Trained Applicators. Verification Of The Above Shall Be Submitted For Approval. D. The Final Approval Of The Water Proofing System Will Be Granted Only After A Sample House Waterproofing Is Done Which Shall Fully Demonstrate The Method Of Application And Required Workmanship For The Satisfaction Of The Engineer. E. The Entire Roofing System Shall Be Guaranteed For A Minimum Period Of Ten Years Against Any Manufacture Defects One Year For Workman Ship Warrantee. The Contractor Will Be Required To Complete The Form Of Guarantee As Detailed In The Appendix Of The Tender Documents. F- A Water Test Shall Be Carried Out After The Application Of The Waterproofing System By Flooding The Entire Waterproof With 100Mm Deep At Upstands And Not Less Than 25Mm Deep At The Highest Point) For A Period Of 24 Hours. Repair If Any Leaks And Repeat The Test Until A Watertight System Is Attained. A Further Test Shall Be Done Before The End Of The Defects Liability Period (Warranty Of Workmanship Ie. One Year). 5 Percentage Of The Contract Amount Shall Be Released After The Workmanship Warranty Ie. One Year, Where Damage Is Caused By Any Failure Of The Warranty Period, Then The Warranty Shall Also Include The Costs Incurred In Rectifying That Damage. Payment Terms Must Be Clearly Mentioned.
