One Of The Principal Commercial Activities That Began In The Geography Of Today’S Md Of Bighorn Was Logging And Soon After, The Management Of And Protection From, Forest Fires. These Activities, And Their Continuation Today, Remain Important Aspects Of The History And Heritage Of This Part Of Alberta. The Md’S Heritage Resources Committee (Hrc) Has Undertaken To Have This History Researched And Presented In A Format Suitable For The Population Of The Md, Hikers, Tourists In The Bow Valley Corridor, And History Buffs. A Significant Start Has Been Made On The Project, However, It Remains Incomplete, And Now The Md Seeks A Contractor To Complete The Project. The Main Objective Is To Prepare An Historical Document Consisting Of Both Primary And Secondary Research And Relevant Historical Photographs, Supplemented By Written Commentary From Interviews With Selected Md Residents. The Document Would Be In A Format Suitable For Posting On The Md’S Website. A Secondary Objective Would Be To Develop An 8-10 Minute Video On The Two Themes: Logging And Forest Fire Protection, That Can Be Shared On Multiple Communication Platforms Including The Md’S You Tube Channel.
