From 1 May 2024, Licensed Early Childhood Services And Certified Playgroups, Including Pacific Bilingual And Immersion Services Will Be Required To Implement Either Part A : Te Ara Whnui Or Part B: Te Ara Mori Of Te Whriki He Whriki Mtauranga M Ng Mokopuna O Aotearoa Early Childhood Curriculum. On 1 February 2023, An Education Report : Gazetting Te Whriki : Publishing The Expanded Curriculum Framework Was Sent To Hon Jan Tinetti, Minister Of Education Seeking Her Signature On The Notice In The New Zealand Gazette That Will Formally Issue An Expanded Legal Curriculum Framework. This Education Report Also Identified Implementation Support That Would Include Content, Resources, And Tools That Reflect Pacific Cultures And Enhance Pacific Services Use Of The Full Framework Of Te Whriki. Pacific Kaiako Have Highlighted The Need To Increase The Visibility Of Pacific Languages, Cultures And Pedagogies In Early Learning Resources. This Supports The Findings Of A Stocktake Of Te Whriki Online We Undertook Early In 2022. We Identified A Need To Increase The Number Of Resources And Tools That Reflect Pacific Cultures And Languages. We Have An Ongoing Work Programme Focused On Better Representation And Recognition Of Pacific Worldviews Through Our Resource Development.
