Within The German Development Cooperation With C te Divoire, Profere Is The Flagship Technical Cooperation Project In The Priority Cooperation Area Climate And Energy, Just Transition. The Project Complements The Engagement Of The German Financial Cooperation Agency, Kfw, To Support The Ivorian Government In Implementing Its Reforms In The Fields Of Renewable Energy And Energy Efficiency (Re/Ee).After Three Years Of Successful Implementation (20192022), The Projects Scope Widened From Aiming To Increase The Number Of Professionals With Technical And Managerial Knowledge Specialized In Re/Ee To Promote Strategies And Actions That Contribute To Market Development And Employment Promotion In These Fields. Mandated To Implement The Project For Another Three Years, The Giz Works To Develop Institutional, Financial And Human Capacities To Support C te Divoire To Achieve Its National Determined Contributions (Ndcs). The Project Is Fully Integrated Into The Countrys Sector Policy And Implemented In Cooperation With The Ministry Of Energy. Other Institutional Partners Include The Ministry Of Technical Education, Vocational Training And Apprenticeship, The Ministry Of Higher Education And Scientific Research And The Ministry Of The Environment And Sustainable Development.The Project Is Divided Into Four Outputs:Output 1 Aims To Strengthen The Institutional Capacity Of The Ministry Of Energy And Government Affiliated Agencies To Promote Re/Ee. This Includes The Capacity To Develop Re/Ee Promotion Schemes That May Be (Co)Financed By International Climate Funds And Improve The Legal And Regulatory Framework If Needed.Output 2 Aims To Improve The Range Of Advisory And Training Services Related To Re/Ee Offered By Private Sector Associations To Their Members. The Project Works With Both Demand As Well As Supply Side Associations To Create Longterm Demand For Highquality Products And Services.Output 3 Supports Activities Aimed At Strengthening The Capacity Of The Ministry Of Energy To Monitor The Degree Of Implementation Of Energyrelated Measures Outlined In The Ndcs. For This Purpose, The Development Of An Mrv (Monitoring, Reporting And Verification) System Is Supported.Output 4 Works To Strengthen Professional Training In The Field Of Re/Ee And Increase The Number Of Specialized Professionals On The Ground. New Qualification Offers Are Being Developed And Anchored In The Ivorian Education System To Meet The Current And Future Demand Of Skilled Workforce.
