Request For Proposals Are Invited For Refurbishment & Alteration To Existing Fcdc Laboratory Deadline: 21-Jul-2023 17:00 (Gmt 13.00) Auckland, Wellington, Fiji, Kamchatka The Purpose Of This Request For Proposals (Rfp) Is To Enter Into A Contractual Agreement With A Successful Bidder And Select A Suitable Contractor To Complete The Refurbishment And Alteration To Existing Fiji Centre For Disease Control (Fcdc) Food And Water Laboratory. Background The Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) Provided Financial Support On FijiS Response To Climate Change Through The Strengthening Health Adaptation Project (Shape) Which Is Managed By The World Health Organization. Under Outcome 2 Of The Shape Project Strengthened Communicable Disease Surveillance System, One Of The Activities Is To Support The Renovation Of Fiji CdcS Public Health Laboratory Conduct Essential Testing And Monitoring For Essential Environmental Health Risks Such As Food And Water Safety And Provide Appropriate Laboratory Technologies To Enhance Confirmatory Diagnosis On Priority Climate-Sensitive Diseases Such As Leptospirosis. The Ministry Of Public Works Meteorological Service And Transport (Mpwmst) Built The Original In 1965 And Carried Out Regular Maintenance And Renovations Of Works Every 5 Years Since Then Until The Fiji Public Works DepartmentS (Building Maintenance Unit Of Mpwmst) Closed In 2008. The Fiji Cdc Water Laboratory Conducts Testing For Water Samples Referred From Various Health Offices In Fiji While Testing For Food Samples Are Referred To University Of The Pacific Laboratory And Koronivia Research Laboratory At High Costs. The Who Dps, Phs And Pce Teams Have Committed To Advancing This Progress And Have Proven Their Strong Adherence With Achieving Universal Health Coverage (Uhc), Health-Related Sdgs As Climate Resilience Requiring Multidisciplinary Approaches Not Only In The Health Sector But Also Communities And Society. With A Primary Focus On Climate Resilience, The Team Is To Support Fiji Mohms In Strengthening Its Leadership And Coordination In Climate Change And Health Policy, Enhancing Laboratory Capacity And Surveillance Network, And Community Engagement For Climate Resilience.
