Project: Tender18217 - Laboratory Services For Effects-Based Screening In Water Samples Using Bioassays . The Ministry Of The Environment, Conservation And Parks (Mecp) Is Seeking Up To Four (4) Vendor(S) Laboratory Services For Biological Analysis Of Extracts From Passive Samplers Deployed In Watersheds And Waters Of Lake Ontario. The Biological Analyses: Cytotoxicity Calux® And/ Or Microtox® Assay; Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (Pahs) Calux®; Estrogen Activity Calux® Assay; Androgen Activity Calux® Assay Are Required. Scope Of Work The Vendor(S) Will Be Required To Complete The Below Biological Analysis On Extracts From Passive Samplers And Deliver Results In Predetermined Units As Prescribed By The Rfb. These Analyses Are Required In Order For The Ministry To Measure And Evaluate The Potential Impacts Of Chemicals Of Concern And Other Harmful Pollutants In The Ontario Environment. In Particular The Vendor(S) Will Be Required To Conduct The Following Biological Analyses: • A Minimum Of Fifteen (15) And A Maximum Of Forty-Five (45) Extracts Using A Cytotoxicity Assay By Either Calux® Or The The Microtox® Test And The Microtox Omni Software To Determine Cytotoxicity • A Minimum Of Fifteen (15) And A Maximum Of Twenty-Five (25) Extracts For Ah-R Mediated Activity Calux® • A Minimum Of Fifteen (15) And A Maximum Of Twenty-Five (25) Extracts For Estrogen Activity Using The Estrogen Receptor Alpha Calux® • A Minimum Of Fifteen (15) And A Maximum Of Twenty-Five (25) Extracts For Anti-Androgen Activity (Anti-Ar) Calux®
