The National Climate Contributions (Nationally Determined Contributions, Ndc) Revised In June 2021 Are Ambitious Compared To All Groups Of Countries. According To Climate Action Tracker, Moroccos Climate Targets Are Compatible With The 1.5 C Target. Even If Emissions Are Still Rising, Morocco Could Be One Of The First (Emerging) Countries To Manage To Flatten The Growth Curve And Start A Downward Trend. Germany Supports Morocco In Implementing Its Energy Transition And Achieving Its Climate Goals, In Particular By Promoting The Expansion Of Renewable Energies, Green Hydrogen And Energy Efficiency. In Technical Cooperation (Tc), The Focus Is On Strategic And Regulatory Advice To The Ministry Of Energy And Downstream Institutions. Further Development Of The Legal And Institutional Framework German Tc Supports The Further Development And Increase In The Applicability Of The Legal Framework For Renewable Energies, Including With Regard To Improving Regulatory And Bureaucratic Performance (Derisking). It Also Supports The Development Of Strategies And Competencies At The Institutional Level. These Are Of Crucial Importance For The Energy Transition, Whether It Is, For Example, Energy System Planning, The Modeling Of Medium And Long-Term Energy Scenarios, Sector Coupling, The Hydrogen Market Ramp-Up Or The Adjustment Of Instruments And Processes For Network Management. Improvement Of Investment Conditions German Tc Organizes Exchange Formats And Advises Institutions, For Example, On The Development Of Financing Mechanisms And On Improving The Basis For Making Decisions About Investments And Local Value Creation. It Also Supports The Startup Ecosystem, For Example By Organizing Workshops And Hackathons Or Developing An Online Platform To Improve Their Visibility. In This Way, Important Prerequisites For The Dissemination Of Technologies And Initiatives Of The Energy Transition Are Created. Strengthening Research And Innovation German Tc Promotes Training Initiatives And Research And Development Capacities To Enable Morocco To Develop Its Own Technological Solutions, Adapted To The Climatic, Geographic And Socio-Economic Context. In Addition, German Tc Supports Pilot Projects On Innovative Technologies And Advises On The Establishment Of Networks Between Researchers And Between Institutions And Stakeholders.
