Research Project - Dzsf - Investigations Of Reptile Populations After Maintenance Measures On The Superstructure. Railway Facilities Are Often Populated By Legally Protected Reptile Species. To Ensure Operational Safety, Regular Maintenance Measures Such As Ballast Cleaning, Replacement Or Replacement Of Points Are Required On Railway Systems. Some Studies Indicate That Reptiles Recolonize The Routes Immediately After Maintenance Work And That Populations Stabilize Within A Few Years. In The Present Project, Existing Data On The Development Of Reptile Populations (Sand Lizard, Wall Lizard, Smooth Snake) After Maintenance Measures Are To Be Evaluated Together With Renewed Recordings. Based On These Results And Further Information From The Literature, An Impact Prognosis And Recommendations For Action Are To Be Drawn Up.
