Destination Earth (Or Destine) Is An Initiative Funded By The European Commission (Under Dgcnect) And Codeveloped By Three Entrusted Entities (3Es): The European Space Agency (Esa), The European Centre For Mediumrange Weather Forecasts (Ecmwf) And The European Organisation For The Exploitation Of Meteorological Satellites (Eumetsat). The Objective Of This Initiative Is To Develop On A Global Scale A Highly Accurate Digital Model Of The Earth To Monitor And Predict The Interaction Between Natural Phenomena And Human Activities. The Main Building Blocks Of The Infrastructure, Required To Reach Destine S Ambitious Goals, Are: A) The Destine Core Service Platform (Desp; Responsibility Of Esa), Based On An Open, Flexible, Scalable, And Evolvable Secure Cloudbased Architecture. B) The Destine Data Lake (Dedl; Responsibility Of Eumetsat) For Handling The Storage And Access Requirements For Any Input And Output Destine Data. C) The Digital Twin Engine (Dte; Responsibility Of Ecmwf)
