The Object Of The Design Is: Simonkallio Elementary School Is Located In The Simonkylä District Of Vantaa. • District 65 Simonkylä • Address: Simonkalliontie 1, 01350 Vantaa • Property Id 92655015 • Block/Plot: 65501/5 • Permanent Id Number 50998 • Site Plan 50900 Simonpelto, Y/K Approved 10.9.1992 Simonkallio School Is A Four-Series, 1–6Th Grade Music-Focused School, Where Almost 600 Elementary School Students Study In The 2022–2023 School Year. The School Has 24 General Education Classes, Three (3) Small Groups And Two (2) Preparatory Classes. The Repair Of The School Building And The Investment In Alteration Works Are Necessary, Because Based On The Condition And Indoor Air Surveys, The Building Is Currently In Need Of A Basic Repair. The Schools Indoor Air Problems Have Been Fixed As Maintenance Work. The Old Part Of The Simonkallio School Was Completed In 1953. The Building Underwent Extensive Renovations In 1964, 1981 And 1982, And It Was Fundamentally Improved In 2004, Mainly In Terms Of Ventilation And Technical Systems. The Old School Building Has Not Been Protected In The Plan So Far. In The Vantaa City Museums Inventory, The School Is Classified As: Rp, Building Heritage Site. A Building Historical Survey Has Been Made About The School. The Extension Part Was Built In 1996. The Dormitory Was Renovated In 2003. In Connection With The Renovation, Windows Were Renewed, Wet Rooms Were Expanded, Furniture And Surface Materials Were Renewed. In This Project, Only Technical Repairs Are Carried Out In The Dormitory, Mainly In The Basement. The Schools Materials Are Of A Good Basic Level, Typical Materials Of Their Time. The Facades And Interior Partition Walls Of The Old Part Are Mainly Brickwork, And The Subfloors Consist Of Sub-Slabs, The Insulation Of Which Has Impurities And Microbe Damage. The Walls Of The Corridors Are Load-Bearing And The Floor Surface Is Patterned Mosaic Concrete. The School Has Original Wooden Windows And Exterior Doors. The Inner Shell Supporting The 90S Extension Is Reinforced Concrete And The Intermediate Floors Are Hollow Tiles. Moisture Has Been Detected On The Floor Surfaces Of The Extension. The Moisture Problems Of The Floor Surfaces Are Fixed. The Current School Functions Are Located In Three Different Wings: • Kitchen And Dining Room, Student Care Facilities, Technical Work And Photography Facilities (1St Floor) • General Education Facilities (1St, 2Nd And 3Rd Floors) • Administration Facilities And Student Care Facilities, Changing Rooms (2 Floors) • Sports Hall, (3 Floors) The Architectural Goal Of Repairs And Alterations Is To Facilitate And Support Functionality, Preserve The Original Atmosphere And Details Of The Building From The 50S, And At The Same Time Brighten The Look Of The Buildings Interior. With The New Curriculum And Operating Culture, More Flexible And Multi-Purpose Learning Environments And Opportunities For Shared Use Of Learning Spaces Are Required From School Premises. The Needs Assessment Project Plan Shows The School Buildings Repair And Space Change Needs, So That The Facilities Better Serve The Users Current And Future Functional Requirements And Needs. Shoe And Clothes Storage Facilities Will Be Built Next To The Air Closets. In The Future, The Corridor Area Will Be Used As Learning Spaces With The Help Of Furniture. The Goal Is Also To Improve The Safety Of The Yard Area: Service Traffic And Escort Traffic Will Be Limited To Their Own Areas And Halftime Activities Will Be Moved Out Of The Noise Area.
