Gn Gnss For Flight Termination System And Precise Orbit Insertion (Expro+) The Use Of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (Gnss) On Board Of Launchers, Would Significantly Improve Flight Termination Systems (Fts) Automation And The Launcher Injection Accuracy.Flight Termination Systems Currently Used On Ariane, Vega, Soyouz Are Not Autonomous. They Require Dedicated Flight Safety Infrastructure And Personnel At Europes Space Port In Kourou. In Order To Improve The Overall Level Of System Autonomy Also The Automation Of The Fts Is Envisaged Based On Gnss Algorithms And Concepts.Current Existing And Implemented Guidance Technology Is Still Purely Based On Measurements By An Inertial Measurement Unit (Imu), E.G. On-Board Ariane 6. This Technology Is Considered As Limited In Terms Of Injection Accuracy.However, Taking Into Account The Existing Capabilities Of The Ariane 6 Upper Stage - Auxiliary Power Unit (Apu) Correction Manoeuvres For Ultraprecise Orbit Injection Are Possible, If Real Time Precise Orbit Determination Capability Would Be Provided. The Expected Orbit Injection Accuracy Improvement Is In The Order Of 1-2 Magnitudes. The Required Real Time Precise Orbit Determination Accuracy Can Be Achieved Based On Gnss Observations And Related Real Time Precise Orbit Determination Concept.Such A Precise Orbit Injection Could Enable A Class Of Purely Electric Spacecraft, Which Currently Require A Hybrid Propulsion System (E.G. Comet Interceptor Or Margo). In Addition More Deterministic Upper Stage Disposal Options Could Be Enabled.This Activity Encompasses The Following Tasks:- Develop And Demonstrate Suitable Gnssconcepts And Algorithms- Deliver Algorithms And To Be Deployed On Esa Gnss Receivers- Analyse Test Data (E.G. From Uav Or Sounding Rocket Flight By Esa
