Jasper Strategic Facility Plan . Approximately 170 People Work For The Municipality, Providing The Day-To-Day Services That Keep The Town Running To The Benefit Of Residents And Visitors Alike. These Services Include Items Related To Core Infrastructure Such As Road Clearing And Maintenance; Water Treatment And Supply; And Managing Solid Waste; As Well As A Broad Suite Of Human Services Such As Recreation And Culture, Social Supports And Childcare. The Municipality’S Somewhat Unique Evolution Is Demonstrated In Its Infrastructure With Some Facilities Being; Legacies Of Previous Entities Prior To The 2001 Incorporation (Activity Centre, Arena And Pool); Some Being Post-Incorporation (Pool Expansion And Addition Of Fitness Centre, Cultural Centre, Emergency Services, Operations & Utilities Shop, Enforcement Services And Waste Water Treatment Plant) And One Being A Current Provincial Government Building (Community Development Offices). In Part As A Result Of This Evolution Over Time The Municipality Does Not Have A “Town Hall” Or Central Administrative And Customer Service Location. Additionally, The Municipality Is Constrained By Its Setting Within A National Park. The Jasper Townsite (Town Boundary) Is Fixed And There Are Limitations On The Amount Of Commercial Floorspace That Will Ever Exist In The Community. These Constraints Are Established Within The National Parks Act And Are Not Within The Municipality’S Control. Recently The Municipality Has Completed Improvement Projects At The Arena And Imitated A Significant Renovation Of The Activity Centre, Arena And Aquatics Centre.
