Tenders Are Invited For Promoting Socially Sustainable And Environmental Practices In Cotton Production In Uzbekistan Uzbekistan Has Entered A New Phase Of Diversifying And Growing The Economy To Generate Economic Opportunities And Decent Jobs Along The Cotton Value Chain. Opportunities Are Emerging For Global Brands And Investors To Source Cotton Products From Uzbekistan And Invest In The Garment And Textile Sector. This Assignment Will Support The Government Of Uzbekistan (Gou) And Cotton Producers To Realize These Opportunities And (I) Adopt Environmentally Sustainable Cotton Production Practices; (Ii) Ensure Adherence To Labor Rights; (Iii) Access Global Markets For Sustainably Produced Cotton. The Objectives Of This Project Are To:*Improve Awareness And Adherence To Labor Rights And Environmentally Sustainable Practices Within Cotton Clusters And Farms; *Strengthen The Capacity Of The Government Of Uzbekistan And Civil Society Activists To Monitor Adherence To Environmentally Sustainable Practices In Cotton Production And Support Dialogue Between The Civil Society Activists And The Gou;*Promote Competitiveness Of The Cotton Sector Through Outreach To Global Brands And Demonstration Of Adherence To Environmental And Social Sustainability Practices Within The Clusters;*Support The Inclusion Of Rural Women And Persons With Disabilities Into Cotton Sector Jobs Through Training Employers On Non-Discriminatory Hiring And Recruitment And Creating Inclusive Workplaces.
