Waka Kotahi Intends To Commence A Tender Process In May 2023. This Notice Is Provided As An Early Indication Only Of The Project And Will Not Form Part Of Any Future Tender Documents Or Contract Documents. This Project Is For The Sh1/29 Intersection Upgrades. This Contract Is For Physical Works To Replace An Existing T-Intersection With A Roundabout At The Junction Of Sh1/Sh29 At Piarere, Located Approximately 44Km South Of Hamilton And 63Km North Of Rotorua. This High-Volume Traffic Intersection, Which Is On One Of New ZealandS Most Critical Corridors, Provides A North-South And East-West Interchange Connecting Auckland To Tauranga Via Hamilton. The Sh1 / Sh29 Intersection Is One Of New ZealandS Most Dangerous Intersections And Has Been Identified As One Of The Projects To Be Delivered Under The New Zealand Upgrade Programme. Access To Site Is Expected From 1 July 2023. Work Scope Includes Earthworks, Structural Fill, Pavement, Kerbing, Barriers, Stormwater, Retaining Wall, Landscaping, 2 Underpasses And Walking And Cycling Paths. The Contract Will Be Traditional Measure And Value. The EngineerS Estimate Is Approximately $40M And The Construction Period Is Expected To Be Up To 2 Years.
