Tenders Are Invited For Promote And Support Innovative, Inclusive And Scalable Initiatives; Strengthened By Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships At The Local Level To Help Solve Global Environmental Problems Call For Project Proposals - Star Gef Fund 7 Deadline: 28-Feb-23 Posted: 15-Feb-23 The Pmf-Gef, Administered By Undp On Behalf Of The United Nations Office For Project Services (Unops), Aims To Support Community-Based Actions Initiated By Local Populations To Contribute To The Fight Against Global Environmental Degradation. It Is Implemented By A National Coordination (Nc) And A National Steering Committee (Cnp) Composed Of Representatives Of Undp, The Government, Research Centers, Civil Society Organizations (Csos) And The Private Sector. The Cnp Selects Projects On The Basis Of Criteria Consistent With The Sustainable Development Priorities Of The Gef, Undp And The Gabonese State. The Gef-Fmp Is Based On A Participatory Approach That Emphasizes The Empowerment Of Local Communities In Project Implementation. These Communities Collaborate With Technical Services And Local Authorities For A Better Articulation Of Projects With Local And National Development Policies. The Priority Areas Of The Gef-Mfp Are Biodiversity, Climate Change, Land Degradation, Control Of Organic Pollutants, Waste Management, International Waters And Capacity Building. Thus, On The Basis Of National Priorities, The Mfp-Gef Gabon Has Selected The Following Four Strategic Initiatives: Community Biodiversity Conservation Sustainable Agriculture And Fisheries Promotion Of Urban Solutions Capacity-Building Of Local Communities This Call Targets Projects In The Following Priority Areas: Biodiversity, Waste Management, International Waters And Capacity Building. The Priority Niches And Landscapes Are Found In The Provinces Of Estuary, Ngouni , Moyen Ogoou And Ogoou -Lolo. The Area Basins Encompassing I) The Entire Area Of Mangroves And Mudflats Of Mondah Bay In Akanda National Park And The Right Bank Of The Komo (Including The Entire Area Of Greater Libreville And The Municipality Of Kango) As Well As The Buffer Zone Located South Of Pongara Park; (Ii) The Waka-Lop Buffer Zone Containing The Departments Of Tsamba Magotsi, Ogoulou And Offou -Onoye; Iii) The Northern Area Of The Bas-Ogoou Ramsar Site, Comprising Lakes Gom , Nkomi And Azingo Located In The Buffer Zone Of The Wonga Wongu Reserve And The Lakes Of The South, Evaro, Onangu , Ezanga And Onguemou , Are The Priorities Of This Call.
