Expression Of Interest Are Invited For Terms Of Reference To Assess Investment Readiness Gaps Of Local Champions The Ifc Local Champions Initiative (Lci) Aims At Identifying, Assessing Needs, And Help Develop Capacity And Investment Readiness Of Local Corporates Operating In Several African Fragile And Conflict-Affected Situations (Fcs) Countries. Following A Pilot In Togo And Niger, Ifc Is Expanding The Program To More Countries In The Region (Burkina Faso, Chad, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone On Top Of Niger And Togo) Where Business Development Efforts Have Enabled The Identification Of Promising Local Corporates. While These Companies Show Growth Potential, They Require Tailored Technical Assistance To Comply With Ifc Investments Standards. As Such, The Lci Project Team Is Seeking To Hire A Consulting Firm To Undertake A Thorough Needs Assessment For 15 Companies Selected In Target Countries. The Results Of The Assessment Will Be Used To Design The Technical Assistance Program For The Companies. Objectives The Main Objectives Of This Consultancy Are To: Undertake The Diagnostic Of The Companies Financial, Governance/Managerial, And Operational Capacities Assess Performance And Investment Readiness Gaps For Each Company (Relative To Ifcs Investment Standards). The Assessment Will Include The Assessment Of The Business Plan For The Companies Future Projects, Identify Risks And Propose Mitigants Including For Environmental, Social And Governance Risks. Propose Recommendations On Addressing Key Investment Readiness Gaps Design And Develop A Customized Technical Assistance Program For Each Company To Meet Ifc Investments Standards With Regards To Their Development Project. An Action Plan Is To Be Developed For Each Company. Conduct A Follow-Up Assessment At The End Of The Technical Assistance Program. Scope Of Work The Consultant Is Being Recruited To Work On The Following Assignments: Carry Out A Capacity Building Needs Assessment To Collect And Analyze Data Regarding The Performance Needs, With A Specific Focus On Improving Their Operations, Growing Their Business, And Meeting Ifc Investments Standards. This Diagnostic Will Include (I) An Analysis Of Macro Factors Directly Impacting Each Companys Performance And (Ii) An Assessment Of Financial, Operational, And Managerial Capacities Of The Team To Identify Gaps Relative To Ifc Standards. Complete An Assessment Of Each Companys Business Strategy, Business Plan And, Identify Areas Of Improvement To Be More Attractive To Investors Categorize Needs And Challenges Common To Most / All Companies Versus Needs And Challenges Particular To Individual Companies Based On The Findings Of The Assessments, Develop An Action Plan With Goals For Each Company With Key Recommendations That Will Improve Their Performance, The Bankability Of Their Project And Propose Quantifiable Checkpoints To Monitor Performance Improvement.
