Expression Of Interest Are Invited For Climate Resilient Transport In Madagascar. Publication Date: 17-Nov-2022 Expression Of Interest Deadline: 05-Dec-2022 The World Bank, With Funds From The Global Facility For Disaster Reduction And Recovery (Gfdrr), Is Seeking The Services Of A Consulting Firm To Support Madagascars Ministry Of Public Works (Mpw) And Ministry Of Transport And Meteorology (Mtm) In The Establishment Of A Climate And Natural Hazard Resilient Transport Sector. The Technical Assistance Aims To Help The Mpw And Mtm Integrate Considerations Related To Climate Change And Natural Hazards Risks Into The Sectors Policies And Planning, Design And Construction, Operation And Maintenance, And Contingency Programming. By Doing So, The Mpw And Mtm Should Be Able To Deploy Their Resources More Effectively To Improve Value-For-Money From Investments In Transport Infrastructure And Enhance The Performance Of Transport Systems Despite Increasingly Frequent Or Intense Climatic Related Risks, Notably Flooding And Cyclones. More Specifically, The Objectives Of The Consultancy Services Are: 1. To Conduct A Climate Change And Natural Hazard Risk Assessment For The Transport Sector In Madagascar. This Includes The Identification Of Natural Hazards And Climate Change Impacts That Can Affect Transport Infrastructure And Services, The Identification Of Critical Transport Infrastructure ,And The Identification Of Vulnerability Hotspots.
