Managing Coastal Aquifers Project In Selected Pacific Sids (Mcap) From The Palau Government (Ppuc) With Guidance From The Supplier. The System Design Is For Peleliu Groundwater Supply, Which Is Used For 154 Households’ Domestic Needs, Including Washing And Cooking. Shallow Groundwater Is Abstracted From A Karstic Aquifer At The Rate Of 10000 Gal/Day And Treated With Chlorination Only. This Water, Hereafter Referred To As Raw Water, Flows Through An Exposed 4-Inch Galvanised Pipe, And Then Through A Buried 6-Inch Pvc Pipe. It Then Merges A Reverse Osmosis (Ro)-Treated Water Pipe Before Being Reticulated Under Gravity To Households Through A Buried 6-Inch Pvc Pipe. Our Intention Is To Treat The Raw Water, But We Can Also Consider Treating The Merged Water. Spc With Palau Public Utility Corporation (Ppuc) Are Seeking Quotations On A System Of Water Treatment That Will Address The Current Water Quality Issues. The Raw Water Is Very Hard (~333 Mg/), Causes Scaling And Corrosion In Pipes, Taps And Appliances; And, Users Also Complain Of Bad (H2s) Small And Taste, Especially After Heating. The Main Goal Forthe Requested Water Treatment System Isto Reduce The Negative Effects Of Water Hardness By Reducing/Removing Scaling And Corrosion In The Pipes, Taps And Appliances.
