The Georgia Department Of Transportation (Gdot) Is Seeking Proposals From Firms Interested In Providing Traffic Signal Training And Certification. The Georgia Department Of Transportation, Office Of Traffic Operations, Seeks To Develop And Implement A Three-Tiered, Instructor-Led, In-Person And Virtual, Progressive Certification Program For Traffic Signal Technicians Comprised Of Categories Of Service For Traffic Signal Technician 1, Traffic Signal Technician 2, And Traffic Signal Technician 3. Each Course Participant Is To Be Trained And Tested In Traffic Signal Installation, Repair, And Maintenance Through Courses In Advancing Complexity That Include Subjects Such As; Cabinet Wiring And Components, Basic Signal Design, Maintenance, Traffic Safety And Work Zone Control And The Associated Software, And As Otherwise Described Herein. Because Of The Fast Progression Of Technology In Traffic Signal Equipment And Software, Each Technician Will Be Recertified Annually, As Defined By Gdot. All Respondents To This Rfp Are Subject To Instructions Communicated In This Document, And Are Cautioned To Completely Review The Entire Rfp And Follow Instructions Carefully.
