Ground Penetrating Radar Survey Of Former Residential School Site(S) - Request For Expressions Of Interest The Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council (Lslirc) Is Seeking The Services Of A Qualified And Experienced Contractor (The “Contractor”) To Conduct A Ground Penetrating Radar Survey Using A Multi-Array Gpr Unit As Part Of Phase 2 Investigations Near The Grouard Mission/St. Bernard’S Residential School. The Contractor Will Be Responsible For: 1) Conducting Ground-Based Gpr Survey Over Large Areas Identified By Kapawe’No First Nation During The Summer Of 2022 2) Processing The Resulting Data To Search For Potential Unmarked Graves 3) Report Findings Back To The Community Through A Technical Report In Fall 2022. The Lslirc Is Partnering With The Institute Of Prairie And Indigenous Archaeology (Ipia) At The University Of Alberta And Kapawe’No First Nation (Kfn) To Oversee And Coordinate The Investigations. The Ipia Will Be The Technical Lead On The Project And Proposals, Reports, And Results Will Be Reviewed By The Technical Staff At The Ipia. The Contractor Will Be Expected To Be Familiar With The Best Practice For Gpr Data Collection And Processing As Established By The Canadian Archaeological Association Working Group On Unmarked Graves. The Supporting Information Provided With This Rfp Remains The Property Of The Lslirc And Kapawe’No First Nation And Must Be Considered Sensitive And Confidential. While Engaged, The Contractor Will Agree That No External Communication Of The Project, Its Goals, Scope Of Work, Or Interim Or Final Results Is Permitted Without Express Permission. Proposal Details Proposals Must Be Received By End Of Day July 25, 2022, And Should Include The Following Information: 1) Statement Of Understanding Of The Project 2) Commitment To Abide By The Direction Of The Partners (Lslirc/Ipia/Kfn) A) Willingness To Have Results Reviewed By Relevant Stakeholders And Experts 3) Project Approach And Timeline 4) Cost Summary Presented In Sufficient Detail To Allow The Reviewers To Understand: A) The Full Cost Of The Work B) Mobilization Costs (Including Crew, Travel, Accommodation, And Equipment Charges) C) Survey Costs D) Costs For Report Preparation 5) Brief Biographical Statements For Each Key Member Of The Team, Including: A) Experience In Gpr Investigation, Generally B) Familiarity With Gpr Best Practices For Detecting Unmarked Graves C) Experience Working With Indigenous Communities And Familiarity With Cultural Protocols D) Any Other Information That May Be Considered Relevant Proposals Should Be Submitted Via Email To [email protected]
