Expression Of Interest Are Invited For Provincial And Subnational Eiti Roadshows And Awareness Project The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (Eiti) Is A Global Standard That Promotes Transparency And Accountability In The Oil, Gas And Mining Sectors. One Of The Key Requirements For Png As Eiti Implementing Country Is To Publish Annual Financial Reports For All Revenues Paid To The Government By Extractive Companies And Receipts Of These Payments By The Government At National And Subnational Levels. In November 2013, A Memorandum Of Understanding (Mou) Was Signed By Government, Industry And Civil Society, Establishing The Png Eiti Multi-Stakeholder Group (Msg). Implementation And Adherence To Eiti Requirements Has Significantly Contributed Globally To Improved Governance By Providing Access To Reliable Information About Company-Government Payments, Disclosures On Beneficial Ownership, Contracts And A Range Of Related Information Critical To Increasing Transparency In The Natural Resources Sector. In Addition, The Eiti Governance Model Has Created Important National And International Platforms For Msg Dialogue And Citizen Advocacy Support By Civil Society Organizations (Csos) For Eiti Implementation. The World Bank Provincial And Subnational Eiti Roadshow And Awareness Project Aims To Support Extractive Industry Accountability And Strengthen Institutional Capacity In Png Including Cso Capacity At Subnational And National Levels To Achieve Compliance With The 2019 Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (Eiti) Global Best Practice Standard. Contract Role And Responsibilities The Contractor Will Co-Ordinate Together With Csos And Png Eiti Secretariat To Undertake Subnational Awareness, Training, Workshops And Roadshows, And Needs Analysis Of Current Subnational Eiti Implementation And Other Related Tasks As Directed By Bank. The Prescribed Activities Are Aimed At Strengthening Institutional Capacity And Accountability Of Csos And Eiti At Provincial And Subnational Levels Through Delivery Of Evidence Based Awareness Programs, Road Shows, Training, And Operational Needs Analysis With Respective Subnational Affiliates. The Main Objective Of The Project Is To Is To Carry Out Provincial And Subnational Awareness And Road Shows In A Number Of Provincial Locations Commencing In The First Quarter Of 2022 Over A Period Of Three (3) Months. The Project Activities Will Be Delivered Jointly With The Pngeiti Secretariat. The Current Proposed Provinces Include Central; Eastern Highlands; Western, New Ireland, Madang, Morobe, East Sepik, And West Sepik, Gulf, Hela And Southern Highlands. The Assignment Would Deliver Advisory And Related Reports To The World Bank On The Status And Capacity Of Eiti Implementation At Sub-National Level In Png, Including Regional And Global Benchmarking, Identification Of Policy, Regulatory, And Practice Gaps, And Making Recommendations To Achieve Best Practice In Subnational Eiti Implementation For Csos And Eiti Secretariat On Subnational Implementation. The Contractor/Consultant Will Also Gauge And Report On The Subnational Feedback For The Recent Scoping Studies Completed By The Bank Tender Link :
