Tenders Are Invited For Consultancy Service - Engaging Men Through Accountable Practice (Emap). Closing Date: 10 Jul 2022 Type: Consultancy Themes: Gender/Protection And Human Rights Background - Scope Of The Consultancy The Danish Refugee Council (Drc) Is A Humanitarian, Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Organization Working In Myanmar Since 2009 In Response To Cyclone Giri And Currently Supporting Displacement-Affected Communities In Three Different States (Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine). Drc Expanded Its Program Beyond Protection To Include The Provision Of Shelter, Wash, Nfis, Livelihood Support And Community Assistance To The People Affected By The June And October 2012 Events In Rakhine State. Drc Aims To Make Available Immediate Relief And Protection To Displaced People And Vulnerable Host Communities In An Impartial, Inclusive And Neutral Manner, Adhering To Drcs Code Of Conduct And Core Humanitarian Principles. Research Has Shown That Women, In Both Rakhine And Rohingya Villages Are Disproportionately Affected By Issues Such As Displacement And Conflicts And Face Additional Issues Such As An Increased Risk Of Gender-Based Violence (Gbv), Extremely Limited Economic Opportunities, And Face A Higher Likelihood Of Engaging In Harmful Coping Strategies. Rohingya Women In Particular Face Multiple Threats To Their Safety In Their Homes (Camp) And In The Community. A Rapid Assessment Conducted By The Gbv Service Providers On The Protection Situation For Women Concluded That Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault And All Forms Of Domestic Violence Were Prevalent In This Community. This Finding Has Been Corroborated By Conversations With Women Group Members Who Report, Using Laughter To Mask Discomfort, That Some Acts Of Intimate Partner Violence Are Frequent And Can Be Acceptable In Cases In Which Women Have Made Mistakes Or When Couples Disagree. Women And Adolescent Girls Interviewed In Safety Audits Also Report Being Fearful Of Going To Latrines Or Of Walking To Neighboring Villages At Night Due To The Risk Of Being Physically Attacked, Sexually Harassed, Or Sexually Assaulted. Drc Addresses Some Of These Protection Concerns By Making Available Gbv Response Services And Enhancing Women And GirlS Support Systems In Order To Mitigate Risks And Enable Survivors To Recover From The Effects Of Violence. Drc Recognizes The Important Role That Men Can Play In Preventing Violence Against Women And Girls (Vawg) And The Importance Of Making Them Allies For Women And Girls. Therefore, Drc Has Been Implementing Encouraging Men Through Accountable Practice Project In Targeted Locations Since 2021 To Address Harmful Attitudes And Improve Positive Behavioral Change Of Male Community. In 2022, Drc Is Planning To Conduct Refresher Training On Emap During August 2022 To Boost The Knowledge And Skills Of The Staffs In Facilitating Emap Sessions. Objectives Of The Consultancy The Consultant Will Review Existing Emap Training Tools And Materials To The Context And Develop Concrete Training Package (Refresher) Based On The Emap Resource Package From Irc, To Be Delivered To DrcS Gbv Prevention Staffs By The Consultant In English. By The End Of The Training, Participants Are Expected To Have The Knowledge And Practical Skills Necessary To: Successfully Implement The 4 Phases Of Emap And Use The Emap Intervention Tools Throughout The Gbv Intervention Facilitate The Emap Curricula With Community Members And Respond To Challenging Situations That May Arise During The Intervention Prioritize The Voices Of Women Throughout The Intervention Duties, Responsibilities And Deliverables Review Existing Emap Resources And Curricula, Assessment Reports, Findings And Training Tools And Consult With Drc Gbv Staff (Focal Staff). Provide Advice To Drc Gbv Colleagues On How To Use The Resources Developed And What Approaches Can Be Used (Including Strategies To Address Early Marriage And Sexual Violence). Provide In-Depth Refresher Training And Mentoring To Key Drc Gbv Staff On The Existing Emap Toolkit And The Immediate Program Recommendations So As To Develop A Strong Understanding And Technical Competency For Gbv Programming. During The Refresher Training, The Consultant Is Expected To Focus On The Following Points: Revision Of Emap Core Concepts. Discuss Common Resistant Reactions That Usually Pop Up In The Practical Sessions With The Participants And Train Them How To Address These Issues Effectively. Train The Participants On Usage Of Emap Tools Including Why It Is Essential And What Are The Benefits Of Utilizing These Tools. Intensive Skills Of Integrating Women Voices Into Emap Men Group Sessions And How To Prioritize The Messages From Women Group To Share With Men And Convey Them In A Safe Manner. Curriculum And Session Revision. How To Facilitate Effectively Emap Sessions. Train The Participants On Monitoring And Evaluation (M&E) Tools Based On The Existing Emap Resource Package. Duties: The Consultant Will Sign The Code Of Ethics And Will Ensure Full Respect Of Humanitarian Principles When Approaching Community Members. Consultant Has The Responsibility To Use Own Online Platform And Network The Consultant Will Sign DrcS Confidentiality Form. Deliverables: Submit The Training Plan To Gbv Manager Including Relevant Training Tools, Materials And Activities To Engage With The Participants. Amend The Training Plan As Necessary According To Gbv ManagerS Suggestion And Recommendation. Provision Of Refresher Training On Emap For Six Days. Produce A Training Report Consisting Of Feedback From Participants, Challenges, And Recommendations To Drc. Expected Number Of Working Days: 11 Days In Total. 3 Days - Preparation And Produce Training Plan. 6 Days - Facilitate The Emap Refresher Training.
