Request For Proposals Are Invited For Conduct Cervical Cancer Situation Analyses For 6 Pacific Island Countries And Areas Deadline: 05-Jul-2022 17:00 (Gmt 8.00) Beijing, Perth, Singapore, Hong Kong Background The WhoS Division Of Pacific Technical Support (Dps) Is Based In Suva, Fiji, With The Aim Of Coordinating And Providing Timely, Tailored Support And Backstopping To 21 Pacific Island Countries And Areas (Pics). The Pacific Noncommunicable Diseases (Ncd) And Health Through The Life Course Unit (Pnh) Provides Technical Support To The Pacific Island Ministries Of Health With Noncommunicable Diseases, Health Promotion, Nutrition And Related Issues Including Cancer Control. Cancer Control Foci Are Primarily National Cancer Control Planning, Cancer Registry Support And Cervical Cancer Early Detection Programme Support. There Is Particular Focus On Supporting The Region To Eliminate Cervical Cancer, In Light Of The Global Strategy To Accelerate The Elimination Of Cervical Cancer As A Public Health Problem (Or Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, Ccei). Who Is Collaborating With Regional Leadership And Technical Organizations, Ministries Of Health As Well As Ingo/Un Partner Agencies To Develop A Coordinated Approach To Cervical Cancer Elimination. Purpose/Specific Objective Of The Activity Who Requires The Successful Bidder, The Contractor, To Carry Out Research Which Will Support Evidence-Based Policies/Plans/Strategies That Support Elimination Of Cervical Cancer In Collaboration With Agencies Within Pacific Island Countries And Areas (Pics). Pics That Have Expressed Interest In Having A Situation Analysis Include Federated States Of Micronesia, Tuvalu, Tonga, Nauru, Palau And Cook Islands. The Situation Analyses Are Intended To Lead Into Development Of Polices, Plans Or Guidelines For Each Pic Which Align To National Priorities And Regional Frameworks For Cervical Cancer Prevention And Control. Development Of The Policies, Plans Or Guidelines Is Not Within The Scope Of This Apw But The Situation Analyses Must Align With The Enablers And Priorities Developing Strategic Framework For The Comprehensive Prevention And Control Of Cervical Cancer In The Western Pacific Region. Concurrently, Other Agencies May Be Carrying Out Similar Activity In Pics And The Situation Analysis Is Expected To Be Comparable Between Multiple Pics Outside The Scope Of This Contract. Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Output 1: Situation Analyses On Cervical Cancer Control Activity In 6 Pics, Which Would Serve To Support Evidence-Based Policy Development For Elimination Of Cervical Cancer In Collaboration With Agencies Within Pacific Island Countries And Areas. The Extent Of Situation Analysis Will Vary Between Pics, But Should Not Exceed 10,000 Words Per Analysis. Considering The Variation In Progress Towards Cervical Cancer Elimination, A Unique Approach May Be Needed For Each Location. Each Situation Analysis Is Nonetheless Expected To Contain, At A Minimum, Description Of National Cervical Cancer Control Efforts In The Context Of The Cancer Control Continuum Stages, The Who Health System Building Blocks, Social Determinants Of Health, Primary Health Care, Gender Equity, Stakeholder Analysis (Including Ngos, Local And International Stakeholders) And Interventions Beyond The Health Sector. Deliverable 1.1: Work Plan Which Defines The Methods To Complete The Individual Situation Analyses And Intended Contents, And Timeframes For Drafting And Delivery To Pics.
