Coffee Value Chain Program The “Association for International Solidarity in ASIA” (ASIA) is a Civil Society Organization (CSO) founded in Rome. Italy in 1988 under the Italian Government Registration No.2016/33700136/001. ASIA considers the cultural diversity, traditions and historical heritage of the people of the Asian continent a priceless treasure to be safeguarded and handed on to future generations, through sustainable development and the engagement of its communities. ASIA operates in Nepal, Mongolia, Myanmar, India, Chinese Province of Qinghai and Sichuan and Bhutan for communities’ development. ASIA works for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, in the interests of peoples in need of aid without distinction of race, faith, religion or nationality. Being nonprofit, apolitical non-governmental organization, ASIA is an independent organization. ASIA started its operations in Myanmar in November 2019 as the leader of a project supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Southern Chin State. The project called “Coffee: optimizing supply chain and support associate business in the Southern Chin State is the result of close collaborations between organizations and institutions of the two countries. This project has been implemented by Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation under which Department of Agriculture , Coffee – Seasonal Crops Division and the Local offices in Mindat and Kanpetlet township as well as K’Cho Land Development Association (COLDA) from Myanmar side on one hand and on the other hand Italian Agency for Development Cooperation-AICS and two international NGOs which are based in Italy namely Association for International Solidarity in Asia (ASIA NGO) and Progetto Continenti NGO (PC) are involved in hand in hand for the project. COLDA is a nonprofit and non-sectorial that seeks dignity, fairness and rights in Southern Chin State of Myanmar for operation of project activities and it is registered under the Association Law. COLDA has committed to seek safe and secure social environment for the vulnerable people from Mindat and Kanpetlet Township, Southern Chin State in Myanmar.
