Work Detail
Expression Of Interest Are Invited For Implementation Of Health System Assessments For System-Level Quality Improvements In Gujarat State, India. The World Bank Is In The Process Of Formulating The Systems Reform Endeavour For Transformed Health Achievement In Gujarat (Srestha-G), A World Bank Supported Program For Results, Which Intends To Help Address Gaps In Primary Health Care (Phc), Disease Surveillance, Quality Of Care (Qoc), Digital Health, And Lagging Health And Welfare Outcomes For Adolescent Girls (Ags). Srestha-G Will Explicitly Build On The Ongoing Efforts Around Phc, And Strengthen Institutional Capacity For Improving Qoc, And Access And Affordability Of Health Services Including For Vulnerable Populations. It Will Also Support The Implementation Of Formative Research. As Part Of This Formative Research, The World Bank, In Partnership With The Government Of Gujarat State, Would Like To Conduct A Comprehensive Mixed-Methods Assessment Of The Health System To Inform A Pilot For Improved Phc Service Delivery In The State. Gujarat Has Seen A Steady Improvement In Many Key Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, And Adolescent Health And Nutrition (Rmncah+N) Indicators Over Time. However, Some Key Rmncah+N Indicators Have Worsened Over Time, And Overall, The State Has An Unfinished, And To Some Extent Stagnating, Rmncah+N Agenda. Also, There Are Some Stark Differences Across Gujarats Districts Regarding These Challenges And The Large Variations In Health Service Access And Coverage Reflect Equity Issues. The Coverage Of Key Mnh Services Across The District Paints A Picture Of Missed Opportunities In Maternal And Neonatal Health Care. Immunization Coverage Equally Varies As It Is Dependent On The Same Phc Capacity. In Addition, There Is Large Variation Across The Districts In Terms Of The Availability And Utilization Of Private Health Facilities. The Phc System In Urban Areas Is Especially Reliant On The Private Sector, Whereas The Rural Health System Relies More On The Public Sector Capacity.
