Upscaling Private Sector Investment In Climate Adaptation In Asia And The Pacific Output 1: Climate-Risk And Opportunities Assessment Toolkit Developed. The Climate-Risk And Opportunities Assessment Toolkit Will Be Used To Assess Risks And Identify Opportunities For Potential Climate Adaptation Interventions In Private Sector Projects, Especially In Climate- Sensitive Sectors And Target Geographies. The Overall Objectives Of The Toolkit Are To (I) Formulate A High-Level Climate Risk Register To Summarize And Conduct Scenario Analyses On Potential Climate Risks And Opportunities Associated With A Particular Geography And Sector, (Ii) Identify Key Hazards, Exposure (To The Identified Hazards), Barriers And Vulnerabilities Faced By The Private Sector In Adaptation For Each Priority Sector And Ways To Overcome Such Barriers, (Iii) Understand The Potential Impact Of Climate Risk To Private Sector-Led Assets/Facilities/Networks And Identify Adaptation Measures To Strengthen Resilience Of Sector And Sub-Sector Projects Through The Project Lifecycle; And (Iv) Identify Climate-Adaptation Related Products And Services That Can Provide Opportunities For Strengthening Resilience Throughout The Project Lifecycle. The Preparation Of The Toolkit Will Include Activities Such As: Data Inventory, Gap Analysis, Collection Of Relevant And Updated Climate Data And Information, Preparation Of Guidelines/ Manual For The Use Of The Toolkit And Dissemination Of The Toolkit To Internal And External Stakeholders. The Assessment Would Include Studying The Effect Of Climate Risks On Vulnerable And Women Populations And Ecosystems In The Target Countries As Well As On More Vulnerable Private Sector Entities Such As Microfinance Institutions, Etc. The Climate Adaptation Interventions And Climate- Adaptation Related Products And Services As Identified By The Toolkit Will Be Paris Agreement Aligned And Will Help Meet Adb’S Commitment Of Aligning 85% Of Non-Sovereign Operations By 1 July 2023 And 100% By 1 July 2025, With The Paris Agreement.
