Covid-19 Response For Affected Poor And Vulnerable Groups Project - V-M&E1 Monitoring And Evaluation Consultant This Output Will Respond To The Immediate Food Security Needs Of 250 Poor And Vulnerable Women-Headed Households (Estimated 1200 Household Members) Affected By The Pandemic. This Output Will Introduce Vertical Gardening As An Innovative Approach To Enable Food Production Within The Cities Of Port Vila And Luganville. The Provision Of Vertical Gardening Kits, Consisting Of Raised Beds, Climbing Frames, Soil, Seeds, Fertilizer And Tools And Trainings On Soil Preparation, Seed Propagation, Crop Management, And Pest Control Will Enable Poor And Vulnerable Women-Headed Households To Establish And Sustain Vegetable Gardens Close-To Home And Therefore Ensure Security In Access. Trainings On Healthy Diet And Preparing Nutritious Food Will Be Delivered To Poor And Vulnerable Women-Headed Households To Help Prevent Non-Communicable Diseases Affecting A Large Proportion Of The Population. To Help Transition To More Sustainable Assistance, The Beneficiaries Will Also Receive Income Generation Support Through Food Preparation, Preservation And Packaging Training, Food Safety Certification, Micro And Small Business Development And Provision Of A Seed Grant To At Least 250 Poor And Vulnerable Women Head Of Households To Enable The Start-Up Of Micro And Small Home-Based Enterprises. Department Of Agriculture And Rural Development (Dard) Personnel Will Receive A Training Of Trainers, To Increase Dards Ability To Deliver Innovative, Low-Tech Vertical Gardening Approaches To Backyard Gardeners And Farmers In The Medium To Long-Term. Other Members Of The Community Will Benefit From Community Awareness On Backyard Gardening And Food Processing And Vanuatu Made Events To Be Organized In Port Vila And Luganville. Criteria And Selection Of Beneficiary Households Will Be Implemented With Support From Nongovernment Organizations (Ngos) To Target Women-Headed Households Particularly Impacted By The Pandemic Including Those Unemployed And Informal Sector Female Workers, Survivors Of Gbv And Households With A Person Living With A Disability. During Trainings, Participating Women Beneficiaries Will Be Supported By Allowance As Supplementary Income Support During Training Days And Childcare Support For Women With Children In Need Of Care.
