Econsult: Cgap Savings For Digital Platform Workers In Africa As Part Of Cgaps Business Model Innovation Work, Cgap Is Researching Digital, Online Platforms To Find Opportunities To Enhance The Income And Livelihoods Of Workers, Especially Traditionally Informal, Low-Income Workers, Especially In Agricultural/Livestock/Fishing Value Chains. Given The Existing Trust, Communications And Financial Engagement Between Platforms And Their Workers, There Is An Opportunity To Offer Workers Additional Services That Support Their Well-Being And Platform Engagement. Cgap Seeks To Create Financial Services, Such As Credit, Savings And Insurance For Workers Within A Platform Ecosystem That Protect And Enhance Their Livelihoods. For This Pilot, We Are Seeking A Vendor To Support Platform Worker Well-Being Via Improved Access To Safe Savings Facilities. We Hope To Learn Whether Providing Such Access Directly Through The Platform Increases Worker Savings, Improves Worker Well-Being, And Enhances Business Metrics For The Platform.
