RSPB Seasalter Levels North Marshland DevelopmentdescriptionOver The Course Of 2021 This Project Will Undertake Engineering Works To Enhance The In Field Topography And Disconnect The Areas From The Landscape Drainage Regime In Order To Provide Habitats For Wetland Birds We Will Create Discrete Hydrological Units Across The Seasalter Levels Designed To Capture Rainfall And Be Supplemented By Surface Water Abstractions In Order To Provide The Required Hydrological Conditions For The Desired Habitat To Do This Groundworks Are Required To Create The Water Retaining Features And To Improve The Habitat More Generally Using A Cut And Fill Approach These Works Should Create A Number Of New Or Modified Structures During A Programme Of Phased Groundworks Including The Creation Of Islands Rills Perimeter Lips Low Point Plugs Crossing Points Culverts Crossing Points Dams Ditch Reprofiling And The Decommissioning Of Selected Land Drains In Addition We Require The Supply And Installation Of A Box Culvert Crossing And Some Areas To Be Dressed With Hard Standing In Areas Used For Livestock Management And Turning Points For Vehicles The Winning Tender Bid Will Become Principal Contractor For The Seasalter North Unit Which Includes Alberta And Whitstable Bay Estate Known As WBE Areas
