Recruitment Of A Gender SpecialistRural Mobility And Connectivity ProjectThirty Five Percent 35 Of Women Worldwide Have Been Survivors Of Physical And Or Sexual Violence Caused By Their Intimate Partners Or Other Actors Who 2013 The World Bank Recognizes That Tackling Gender Based Violence Gbv Around The World Is Essential To Close The Gap Between Men And Women Produce A Lasting Impact On Poverty And Promote The Achievement Of Growth Sustainable Economy That Benefits Everyone However The Recent Note On Good Practices For Combating Sexist Violence In The Framework Of The Funding Of Investment Projects Comprising Major Civil Engineering Works 1 Note On Good Practices Vbg Recognizes That Operations Involving Major Construction Works Civil Engineering Can Increase The Risk Of Gbv Including The Risks Of Sexual Exploitation And Abuse Sea As Well As Sexual Harassment Hs These Risks Can Be Exercised In Different Ways By A Range Of Perpetrators Related To The Implementation Of Operations In Both The Public And Private Spheres In Several Ways For Example Through The Large Influx Of Workers Increasing The Risk Of Sexual Intercourse Transactional Change In Power Dynamics At Home The Gbv Good Practice Note Has Been Prepared To Help Project Teams Define An Approach For Determining Gbv Risks In Particular Eas As Well As Hs That May Be Presented By Investment Project Financing Transactions Reits Involving Major Civil Works Contracts And Advise Borrowers On The Best Way To Manage These Risks The Note Draws On The Experience Of The World Bank And On Good Practices In Use In This Sector At The International Level Including Those Of Other Development Partners 2 The New Environmental And Social Standards Of The World Bank Nes 3 Contain Specific Requirements Relating To The Identification And Assessment Of Environmental And Social Risks And Impacts Associated With Projects Financed By The World Bank This Good Practice Note Informs Project Teams On Good Practices For Managing The Risks And Effects Of Gbv In The Context Of The Environmental And Social Framework In Particular The Following Esss As Well As The Precautionary Measures Prior To The Framework Ess No 1 Assessment And Management Of Environmental And Social Risks And Effects Nes No 2 Employment And Working Conditions Nes No 4 Health And Safety Of Populations Nes No 10 Mobilization Of Stakeholders And Information These Terms Of Reference Tor Are Prepared To Be Used For The Recruitment Of A Gbv Specialist Who Will Be Responsible For Supporting The Project In The Prevention Mitigation And Response To These Risks As Part Of Its Implementation Implemented
