Regional Initiative For The Elimination Of Malaria In Mesoamerica And The Dominican Republic The Main Components Of The Program Are The Following: Component I: Increased Coverage And Quality Of Services For Diagnosis, Treatment, Research And Response To Confirmed Cases Of Malaria. The Objective Of This Component Is To Ensure The Quality Diagnosis Of Febriles In The First 48 Hours And The Treatment Of Patients With Malaria According To The Standard In The First 48 Hours And The Treatment Of Patients With Malaria According To The Standard In The First 72 Hours. In Order To Intensify Investments To Interrupt The Transmission Of The Disease In The Prioritized Population Based On The Stratification Of Foci, The Following Activities Will Be Financed: (I) Improvement Of The Infrastructure Of The Network Of 23 Microscopy Laboratories In Endemic Areas ; (Ii) Purchase Of Furniture, Warehouse Equipment For Microscopic Diagnosis; (Iii) Purchase Of Laboratory Equipment, Such As Microscopes And Their Spare Parts; (Iv) Interventions To Promote Continuous Quality Improvement Processes In Laboratories, As Well As The Development Of Capacities Of Personnel Of The Public And Non-Public Laboratory Network; (V) Processes For The Certification And Licensing Of Public And Private Laboratories; And (Vi) Design Of Standard Operating Procedures For The Microscopic Diagnosis Of Malaria. On The Other Hand, To Strengthen Diagnosis And Treatment In The Community, This Component Will Finance The Necessary Inputs To Carry Out The Rdps; Acquisition Of Colvol Kits And Personal Protective Equipment, Standardization Of Diagnosis And Operating Procedures. Additionally, Activities Will Be Financed To Strengthen Research And Response Through The Acquisition Of Supplies And Equipment Necessary For The Operation Of The Egf And To Strengthen The Logistics Operation For Egf Field Work With Human Resources With Competencies In Epidemiological And Entomological Surveillance. Also, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed For External Evaluations And For Updating Technical Standards And Care Manuals At The Level Of Health Establishments, Hospitals, And Voluntary Collaboration Positions. Component Ii: Strengthening Of Epidemiological, Entomological And Parasitological Surveillance. The Specific Objective Of This Component Is To Improve Epidemiological, Entomological, And Parasitological Surveillance Of Malaria. To Achieve This Objective, This Component Will Finance The Interventions That Ensure The Elimination And Prevent The Local Reintroduction Of Malaria In The Municipalities Of The Strata, By Strengthening The Information Systems And Surveillance Throughout The Country, But Emphasizing The Municipalities Border Areas And With A High Number Of Cases. The Activities To Be Financed Are: (I) Acquisition Of Computer Equipment, Servers, Computer Programs, And Tablets To Capture Information And Analyze Data For The Control Of Epidemic Outbreaks, In Order To Strengthen The Information And Surveillance Systems; (Ii) Coordination Meetings, Information Exchange And Execution Of Plans To Strengthen Epidemiological Surveillance Of Malaria Between Foci And Between Countries, To Contain Transmission Derived From Imported Cases; And (Iii) Training Health Providers In Epidemiological Surveillance And Implementation Of A Communication Mechanism / Plan To Detect Suspected Chaos Of The Disease, In Order To Improve Vulnerability Surveillance In Areas Without Autochthonous Transmission. In Addition, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed To Strengthen Capacities For Research And Analysis Of Epidemiological Information, Preparation Of The Epidemiological Surveillance Manual, And Training For Local Teams And Volunteers In Field Epidemiology. To Contain Transmission Derived From Imported Cases; And (Iii) Training Health Providers In Epidemiological Surveillance And Implementation Of A Communication Mechanism / Plan To Detect Suspected Chaos Of The Disease, In Order To Improve Vulnerability Surveillance In Areas Without Autochthonous Transmission. In Addition, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed To Strengthen Capacities For Research And Analysis Of Epidemiological Information, Preparation Of The Epidemiological Surveillance Manual, And Training For Local Teams And Volunteers In Field Epidemiology. In Addition, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed To Strengthen Capacities For Research And Analysis Of Epidemiological Information, Preparation Of The Epidemiological Surveillance Manual, And Training For Local Teams And Volunteers In Field Epidemiology. In Order To Improve The Surveillance Of Vulnerability In Areas Without Indigenous Transmission. In Addition, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed To Strengthen Capacities For Research And Analysis Of Epidemiological Information, Preparation Of The Epidemiological Surveillance Manual, And Training For Local Teams And Volunteers In Field Epidemiology. In Order To Improve The Surveillance Of Vulnerability In Areas Without Indigenous Transmission. In Addition, Technical Assistance Will Be Financed To Strengthen Capacities For Research And Analysis Of Epidemiological Information, Preparation Of The Epidemiological Surveillance Manual, And Training For Local Teams And Volunteers In Field Epidemiology. Component Iii: Strengthening Of Integral Vector Control. The Objective Of This Component Is To Improve Comprehensive Vector Control In The Intervened Communities. The Dti-R Interventions Will Be Completed Through This Component To Reduce The Number Of Vectors For Which Activities Will Be Financed To Increase Local Capacities To Improve Comprehensive Vector Control, Especially In The Prioritized Municipalities: (I) Rri Of Approximately 79,000 Homes (Two Cycles In The Year) In Endemic Communities; (Ii) Installation And Training For The Use Of Approximately 134,630 Mtild In The Target Locations; (Iii) Intervention Of Approximately 524 Hatcheries In The Municipalities With Active Transmission; And (Iv) Conditioning Of A National Insectary By Improving Infrastructure, Equipment, And Training Of Resources In Basic Entomology, Component Iv: Cross-Cutting Interventions To Support The Management And Provision Of Services For The Elimination Of Malaria. To Support The Implementation Of The Activities Of The Three Previous Components, Transversal Interventions Were Defined. Through This Component, The Following Will Be Financed: (I) Technical Assistance For The Design And Implementation Of Communication Plans With A Gender And Intercultural Approach, Including Language Barriers For Behavior Change, Related To The Prevention And Treatment Of Malaria, Which Include The Design Of A Computer Platform For Self-Study And Reproduction Of Materials; There Is Wide Cell Phone Coverage, An Instrument That Will Be Used Based On The Experience Of Icm, Asynchronous Technology, Which Captures Information In Places Without Access And Then Synchronizes And Updates It; The Strategy Will Be Implemented In Approximately 847 Communities And Approximately 78 Health Establishments In Endemic Areas; (Ii) Three Operational Investigations On Adherence To Treatment, Entomological Investigation, And Surveillance Of Antimalarial Resistance; (Iii) Organization Of A Self-Learning Platform On Malaria Issues; And (Iv) Creation And Operation Of The National Team To Lead The Elimination Of Malaria.
