Youth Leadership Seasonal Projects CYP Newry Mourne and Down District Council have secured EU funding for the PEACE IV Local Authority Action Plan Beyond Tolerance As a delivery partner Newry Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership PCSP will be responsible for the delivery of some actions within the PEACE IV action plan which will promote peace and reconciliation in the local area Newry Mourne and Down PCSP is seeking to appoint a competent supplier to deliver a Youth Leadership Programme under the Children and Young People theme Enhancing the capacity of children and young people to form positive and effective relationships with others of a different background and make a positive contribution to building a cohesive society The Programme will invest in children and young people so that they can reach their potential and maximise their contribution to a cohesive society In particular the programme will bring about change in the form of clear meaningful and sustainable distance travelled for individual young people in terms of good relations personal development and citizenship Three indicators have been identified An increase in the percentage of 16 year olds who socialize or play sport with people from a different religious community very often from 43 to 50 sometimes 24 to 28 An increase in the percentage of 16 year olds who think relations between Protestants and Catholics are better than they were 5 years ago from 45 to 50 An increase in the percentage of 16 year olds who think relations between Protestants and Catholics will be better in 5 years time from 38 to 45 Aim of ProgrammeTo provide cross community contact opportunities for young people aged 10 24 where young people from different traditions cultural background or political opinion can meet and develop positive relationships through the provision of diversionary activities These cross community contact opportunities should be meaningful sustained and purposeful br
