Them In Our Care And Strong Healthy Families Detailed In Family Counseling Training Section Of This Tor The Trainer Will Be Field Based At Jrs Maban And Will Be Operational From 6 May To 31 July ContextJrs Is An Organization Of The Catholic Church Specifically Of The Society Of Jesus Jesuits And Is A Collaborative Venture Between The Laity And The Religious Jesuit Refugee Service Is Involved In A Service To Refugees Idps And Other Forcibly Displaced Persons Around The World Jrs Maban Is Located In The Northern Upper Nile State And Was Launched In 2013 The Project Focuses On Education And Psychosocial Support To The Most Vulnerable Households In Both The Host Community Of Maban And The Four Refugee Communities There Psychosocial OverviewPsychosocial Needs Of The General Population And Particularly Of Persons With Special Needs PsnS Are Significant In Maban Although Several Ngo Agencies Provide Small Psychosocial Services Like Home Visits Or Therapy Groups These Are Often Provided Through The Lens Of Health Or Protection And Accommodate Very Small And Specialized Numbers Of Beneficiaries Psychosocial Care Has Been Treated As A Crosscutting But Secondary Concern By The Humanitarian Community Whose Priorities Are Camp Management Protection Education And Health However As Of Early 2019 Greater Coordination Among Partners And Stronger Psychosocial Systems Are Signs Of Positive Change In MabanS Psychosocial Landscape A Mental Health And Psychosocial Mhpss Sub Working Group Is Being Established With Jrs As One Of The Chairs Referral Pathways Have Been Revised And So Family Counselling Trainer Will Develop And Implement Two Distinct But Related Trainings 1 Engaging With Families Involving Them In Our Care 2 Hour Sessions 3 Times Per Week For 11 Weeks 66 Hours Of Training The Objective Of This Training Is To Give Participants Basic Counselling Skills That Are Useful To Engaging With Families Specific Learning Objectives Should Include A Basic Counselling Skills Particularly Useful To Engaging With Families And Children B Family Systems And Relationships C Caregivers Special Needs Self Care How To Support D Common Challenges And Problems In Family Systems How To Recognize Them And Counselling StrategiesA Domestic ViolenceB Gender Roles And Norms Oppressing FemalesC Neglect And AbuseD Family Dynamics When Caring For An Elderly Pwd CwdE Impact Of A Traumatic Event On A Family E Strategies For Involving Families And Caregivers In A Care Plan And In Home VisitsThis Training Will Be Provided To Two Distinct Groups Of Participants The First Is Jrs Ngo Psychosocial Staff With High Levels Of English Proficiency And Considerable Experience With Mhpss In The Field 20 People The Second Group Will Be Jrs Incentive Home Visitors Or Refugees Who Conduct Psychosocial Home Visits In Their Own Communities They Have Received Basic Training From Jrs In Mhpss And Have Limited English Proficiency 20 30 People 2 Strong Healthy Families 2 Hour Sessions 4 Times Per Week For 4 Weeks 32 Hours Of Training The Objective Of This Training Is To Educate Caregivers And Parents Of Children With Disabilities CwdS CwdS In The Importance Of Strong Stable Family Life In The Development Of Their Children As Well As Equip Them With Tools To Create Such A Culture In Their Household Specific Learning Objectives Should Include A Overview Of Early Childhood Development B Supportive And Positive Parenting Techniques C Inclusion And Special Support Considerations For A Cwd In The Household D Characteristics Of Strong Healthy Families E Practices Of Strong Healthy Families F Impact Of Strong Healthy Families On The Life Course Of ChildrenThis Training Will Be Delivered Directly To Community Members In Doro Refugee Camp And The Mabanese Host Community Approximately 30 Community Members In Each Trainings Will Be Interactive In Nature And Include Practicum Components To The Greatest Extent Possible Home Visits Role Play Etc ReportingThe
